By accessing, creating an account on, or using the BookSwap mobile application, website, or related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use BookSwap. BookSwap may update these Terms from time to time, and the updated version will be published on the BookSwap website or application.
BookSwap is a technology marketplace that connects independent buyers and sellers of physical books, with a particular focus on used and pre-owned books, academic books, and competitive-examination preparation books.
BookSwap does not generally own, manufacture, possess, inspect, package, or deliver the books listed by users. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the sale of a particular book is between the buyer and seller.
Users must be at least 13 years old to use BookSwap. Users between 13 and 17 years of age should use BookSwap with appropriate parental or legal guardian involvement where required by applicable law.
Users are responsible for providing accurate and complete information when creating and using an account.
Users may register using the account-creation methods made available by BookSwap. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their login credentials and for activities carried out through their account.
Users must not create accounts using another person's identity or information without authorization and must promptly notify BookSwap if they believe their account has been accessed without authorization.
Users may list eligible physical books for sale. Sellers may list an individual book or a group/bundle of books.
BookSwap is primarily intended for used and pre-owned books, including academic and competitive-examination books. Other lawful physical books may also be listed subject to these Terms and BookSwap's prohibited-content requirements.
Listings must contain accurate and sufficient information, including where applicable:
BookSwap may require a valid ISBN for a book to be listed. Sellers are responsible for ensuring that their listings are truthful, lawful, and do not infringe the rights of others.
Free accounts may list up to 10 advertisements, subject to BookSwap's current listing rules.
Sellers who wish to list more than the free limit may purchase BookSwap's monthly seller subscription, currently priced at Rs. 999 per month. Subject to the applicable plan, subscription benefits may include additional listing capacity, seller verification, a verified badge, and increased seller visibility.
BookSwap may verify sellers using information such as phone number, email address, CNIC, name, address, payment-account information, profile information, and other information reasonably necessary for verification.
A verified badge means that BookSwap has completed its stated verification process. It does not mean that BookSwap guarantees the seller's honesty, the quality or authenticity of a book, delivery performance, or the seller's future conduct.
BookSwap may offer a premium or featured listing service currently priced at Rs. 200 per listing. A premium listing may receive increased visibility or placement in featured areas.
Purchasing a premium listing does not guarantee a sale, a particular number of views, or a particular position for a specific period. Once the premium service has been activated or provided, the fee is generally non-refundable. Deleting the advertisement after purchasing the premium listing does not create a right to a refund.
Sellers determine the selling price displayed in their listings. BookSwap does not provide a bargaining or negotiation feature. The listed price is the applicable book price unless BookSwap expressly states otherwise.
Buyers and sellers may communicate through BookSwap's chat feature to discuss the book, its condition, photographs, and other relevant information before a purchase.
BookSwap may facilitate transaction payments through its designated payment arrangements, including its Easypaisa/Raast merchant payment arrangement. Cash on delivery is not accepted unless BookSwap expressly introduces it in the future.
For applicable transactions, the buyer's payment is received by BookSwap and held pending completion of the applicable transaction and settlement requirements. BookSwap is not the owner or seller of the book merely because it receives and processes the buyer's payment.
BookSwap currently charges a 15% seller commission on applicable completed sales.
Each seller's first successfully completed sale is subject to 0% seller commission. After the first successfully completed sale, the standard 15% seller commission applies unless BookSwap expressly announces another promotional rate.
For example, if a book is sold for Rs. 1,000 after the seller's first completed sale, BookSwap deducts Rs. 150 and the seller receives Rs. 850.
To qualify for seller settlement, the seller must provide the required shipment information through BookSwap. This includes, where applicable:
BookSwap may use the submitted tracking information to record and, where technically possible, verify shipment or delivery status.
BookSwap will release the eligible seller amount after the applicable delivery and confirmation requirements have been satisfied. If the seller does not dispatch the book or does not provide the required shipment information, BookSwap may withhold the seller's payout.
BookSwap may send notifications to the buyer requesting confirmation of receipt or feedback. Buyer confirmation is used as part of the transaction settlement process.
BookSwap does not provide delivery or courier services. Delivery arrangements are between the buyer and seller.
The buyer and seller may mutually agree on the courier service to be used. The buyer is responsible for courier charges unless the buyer and seller agree otherwise.
BookSwap is not responsible for courier delays, lost or damaged packages, courier handling, delivery charges, failed deliveries, or other courier-service issues. BookSwap's collection of tracking information is for transaction and settlement records and does not constitute a guarantee of delivery.
Before purchasing a book, buyers should carefully review the listing, photographs, ISBN, edition, condition, price, and other information provided by the seller. Buyers may use BookSwap's chat feature to ask questions, request photographs, and discuss the book before placing an order.
Buyers are responsible for making an informed purchasing decision based on the information available to them.
BookSwap is a marketplace platform and does not generally accept returns or guarantee the condition, authenticity, completeness, or suitability of books sold by independent sellers.
Buyers and sellers are expected to use BookSwap's chat feature to discuss the book and its condition before purchase. BookSwap is not responsible merely because a buyer receives a book that does not meet the buyer's expectations.
BookSwap may, however, review reports involving fraud, counterfeit or pirated books, prohibited content, serious misconduct, non-dispatch, payment abuse, or violations of these Terms, and may take action against an account or transaction where appropriate.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
BookSwap may provide text chat, photographs, and voice-note functionality so buyers and sellers can communicate about books.
Users must not use BookSwap communication tools for harassment, threats, scams, fraud, spam, phishing, illegal activity, abusive conduct, or sharing unnecessary sensitive information such as passwords, OTPs, payment PINs, or confidential financial credentials.
Buyers and sellers may rate and review one another based on genuine experiences, including communication, behavior, and the relevant buying or selling experience.
Users must not post fake, manipulated, threatening, abusive, hateful, or misleading reviews. BookSwap may remove reviews that violate these Terms.
Users may block or report other users or listings where the relevant feature is available. Reports may also be submitted to support@bookswapmarketplace.com . BookSwap may investigate reports and may warn users, remove listings, restrict accounts, suspend accounts, or permanently terminate accounts where appropriate.
BookSwap permits lawful physical books subject to its marketplace rules. Users must not list, sell, purchase, upload, or share books or content that violates applicable law or BookSwap's policies.

BookSwap may remove or reject a listing that violates these requirements without prior notice where appropriate.
BookSwap's name, branding, logos, application interface, software, designs, and original platform content are owned by BookSwap or its licensors unless otherwise stated. Users must not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or reproduce BookSwap's platform or protected materials without authorization.
Users retain any rights they may have in content they upload. By uploading listing photographs, descriptions, or other content, users grant BookSwap a non-exclusive license to host, display, store, reproduce, and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, and promote the BookSwap service.
BookSwap may warn, restrict, suspend, or permanently terminate an account where it reasonably believes that the user has violated these Terms, engaged in fraud, listed prohibited material, provided false verification information, abused payment processes, manipulated ratings, harassed other users, attempted to circumvent platform rules, or engaged in conduct that threatens the safety or integrity of BookSwap.
Serious violations may result in immediate suspension or termination without prior warning.
Users may delete their account through Settings → Delete Account in the BookSwap application. Account deletion is governed by the Account Deletion Policy .
Following account deletion, BookSwap may retain a limited internal deleted-account identifier and other limited records where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, transaction records, legal compliance, or other legitimate purposes described in the Account Deletion Policy and Privacy Policy.
The BookSwap service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
BookSwap does not guarantee that a particular book will sell, that a buyer or seller will complete a transaction, that a listing is accurate beyond information provided or verified through BookSwap's processes, that a courier will deliver on time, or that the service will always operate without interruption or error.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BookSwap is not responsible for losses arising solely from the acts or omissions of independent buyers or sellers, book condition or authenticity, inaccurate information supplied by users, courier services, delivery arrangements, missed meetups, or transactions conducted outside BookSwap.
BookSwap's role in receiving and settling transaction payments is limited to the payment and settlement process described in these Terms and the applicable payment arrangements.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, users agree to indemnify and hold harmless BookSwap, its owners, employees, and affiliates from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, or reasonable expenses arising from the user's unlawful conduct, violation of these Terms, misuse of the Service, or infringement of another person's rights.
BookSwap may use third-party services for payment processing, hosting, verification, analytics, security, communication, or courier tracking. BookSwap is not responsible for the independent acts, omissions, terms, or performance of third-party service providers, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
BookSwap may modify or discontinue features and may change listing limits, subscription prices, premium listing prices, commission rates, verification requirements, payment methods, or other platform features. Where appropriate, material changes will be communicated through the application or website.
These Terms are intended to be governed by the applicable laws of Pakistan. As BookSwap is currently not registered as a legal entity, the specific court jurisdiction will be identified and updated once the legal entity and registered office are established.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove rights or remedies that users cannot legally waive.
